Fort Attaway Press Release  January 29, 2008


The Fort Attaway Preservation Society and the Coosa River Basin Initiative are proud to announce they are sponsoring the clean up of Little Dry Creek, which was an intricate part of Fort Attaway's location and history. The clean up will be held on Friday, February 1, 2008 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Other sponsors include the Rome Adopt-a-Stream program and Berry College Students. The public is not only invited but encouraged to participate in cleaning up Rome's Little Dry Creek and at the same time will get free sneak peak at Fort Attaway before its Grand Opening later this year.

 

SPONSORS:

·       The Fort Attaway Preservation Society is providing the dump truck to transport the waste and recyclables.

·       The Coosa River Basin Initiative is supplying the garbage bags for the waste.

·       Berry College students are supplying the labor as part of their community service.

·       The Rome Floyd Recycling Center is supplying the bags for the recyclable materials that they will be processing.

 

Start time:

The clean up will start at 3:00 p.m. and end at 5:30 p.m. on
       Friday, February 1, 2008

Rome's new Post Office, #1420 Martha Berry Blvd

(just off US Hwy 27 1 mile north of Floyd Hospital)
